Recently, staff from the Markham Public Library visited Ambrose High School, distributing library cards to the students. The free borrowing service not only provided students with additional learning resources beyond those available on campus but also helped them improve their language skills and better integrate into the local culture. This is an important step for them to adapt to and integrate into Canadian academic and social life.
Additionally, the staff introduced various volunteer opportunities available at the Markham Public Library (which has eight branches), such as sorting books, assisting with book clubs, and organizing children's activities. The students actively asked questions, seeking a deeper understanding of how to apply for volunteer positions online, as well as the requirements and scheduling. The library staff patiently answered each question and provided a detailed explanation of the application process.
